Can happiness and excitement be mutually exclusive?
I've have been waiting for 8 years for something that is now on the verge of happening. And even though I am looking forward to it - I don't feel excited. I am really happy, not the kind that makes you glow all day.....but the kind that makes you satiated, complete.....I do randomly smile ....and I think it'll all go smoothly, and yet.... I hate the fact that I can't feel that tingle....
It's all like a well fitted glove - tailor-made: known and comfortable. It's new and yet somehow...old.... Think of it as a dress you plan to wear on a special day - you plan from scratch, pick the material, choose a design and find the right tailor to make it just the way you want it. You know it's a perfect fit for you, you've worked on it for over a month. Of course you're happy, it's just what you wanted - it's new..just not novel..... and no I am not unsure...just confused with reality...
So here...I ask again - Can happiness and excitement be mutually exclusive?
