No-Show At Cannes

There's a lot of hoopla surrounding the fact that Indian cinema is becoming global. Really? What exactly did the largest producer of films in the world have to show for itself at the recent Cannes film festival?

I can't help but agree with harsh here. Cinema as such is a form of art and true is always inspired by Life, as has been rightly said by Satyajit Ray. The so called Movie Moghuls of Hindi Cinema... oops Indian Cinema have sadly decided to weave incredible absolute bogus stories to feed the rather "emotional" Indian audience. Oh btw, it is this very audience which has taken on Mr and Mrs Iyer, Bombay Boys, Split Wide Open, and movies of the same genre in recent times. Stuff whcih are realistic and happen. I ask you, how many have seen movies like Zakhm and Parzaania.... Not many!! How many have Hum Aapke Hai Kaun?? Or Kal Ho Na Ho?? Or... forget it!! Run of the mill.... tweak it a little and you have a story!! Larger than life characters.... characters whose touch with ground reality is strangely missing. And they think they do something at Cannes??
Oh!! another sad story, you might have noticed in my pun earlier.... to qualify Hindi Cinema as Indian Cinema!! Downright sad.... Can't say more.... facts speak for themselves!!
